Webster has thrived in the Lion City

THURSDAY MORNING TRIALS

It was a good morning for our horses that trialled on the first day of March, 2018.

WEBSTER is a special horse to the yard. Owned by the Mackie's, he is not the biggest or most robust of individuals (he weighs in between 460-470kg's) but what he does posess is talent and a big heart.

WEBSTER AT THE STABLES

Being the kind of horse he is, he cannot do too much on the training tracks but needs to do enough. That's what makes this job so worthwhile, dealing with each individual!

In Dan's words, "He has done quite well winning 3 races from 8 starts. He ran well last time out and Alan Munro suggested Blinkers for his next assignment. (He seemed slightly field shy) he showed good early speed and finished well today!

"We have prepared him to race next weekend in either the Class 3 1100m on the Poly or the Class 3 1200m Sprint on the Turf. We will decide in due course which one.

"When he arrived he was a small, hairy & undeveloped individual who has taken his time to furnish. Once he started working and improving he really started to impress me.

WEBSTER - HE HAS THRIVED IN THE LION CITY

"If I had to be picky, perhaps if he was a bit bigger and stronger he would be more competitive. However, what he has done and continues to do is just great and he is such a lovely horse to train. I must thank the Mackie's for their support in sending him to me.
